Building such high-reliability applications requires manufacturers to have extensive knowledge of flexible circuit design so as not to deliver an unsatisfactory final product by using the wrong materials and special fixturing or damaging the final product by extensively bending it.
Rigid-flex boards are a hybrid of flexible circuits and rigid PCBs that combine their best attributes while eliminating their respective disadvantages.
